Greening Shorelines to Enhance Resilience | This report describes the results of an initial study to advance policies and practices in British Columbia and elsewhere, with regard to the use of “soft” shore armouring alternatives within the context of climate change, seal level rise (SLR) practices and guidelines and flood protection. The study was initiated by the Stewardship Centre for British Columbia (SCBC), with the support of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
SCBC 2013-2014 Annual Report | The Stewardship Centre for BC’s Annual Report (PDF 1006 KB) is now available to view or download. This 12-page report reviews the SCBC’s progress over the last year, with a focus on projects such as Green Shores and the Species at Risk Primer, as well as a host of other information.
Sea Level Rise Adaptation Primer: A Toolkit | A toolkit to build adaptive capacity on Canada’s south coasts. This report was created for the British Columbia Ministry of Environment in the Fall of 2013. This Primer provides an introduction to past and future sea level, an overview of four different adaptation strategies, a recommended framework for decision making and finally a total of 21 adaptation tools to support local adaptation action.
