The Stewardship Centre for BC is rolling up its sleeves to help plan a full-day Stewardship Roundtable for next August, in collaboration with the International Ornithological Congress, Vancouver Bird Festival and multiple partners. The Roundtable is taking place on August 24th during the 2018 International Ornithological Congress in Vancouver next summer.
And we are looking for people interested in helping with planning this exciting event! There will also be sponsorship opportunities!
Scope of the Roundtable
The Roundtable will provide an opportunity for stewardship practitioners, the International Ornithological Congress participants and the general public to engage in the stewardship of bird and wildlife populations, and their habitats, in BC and elsewhere.
The plan is that the all-day forum will feature panel presentations, world café style discussions, story-telling and networking around the following themes:
-
- Cats and birds living in harmony
- Climate adaptation for birds and wildlife
- Urban habitat for birds and wildlife
- Wildlife Management Areas/ Important Bird Areas and shorelines
- Migratory birds and building collisions.
The outcomes from the Roundtable will lead to broader understanding and action for stewardship of bird and wildlife populations and their habitat.
