Report Overview:
It is possible to reduce our vulnerability to climate change. An effective response involves both the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well as adaptation to the impacts resulting from a changing climate. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions will decrease both the amount of climate change, as well as the rate of change, so that effective adaptation can occur. Adaptation refers to activities that minimize the negative impacts of climate change, and position us to take advantage of new opportunities that may be presented. This report presents a brief summary of research in this field over the past five years, as it relates to Canada.
