GREEN SHORES LEVEL-1
Prerequisite: None
Online course: Green Shores Level-1 training is offered year-round through the BCIT online portal. As an online learning course, students can start at any time and have three weeks from the registration date to complete the course. To register, visit the BCIT Part-Time Studies offerings.
Field-based course: Green Shores Level-1 is also offered as an in-person field-based course across BC in communities that are part of the Green Shores Local Government Working Group. Courses are scheduled throughout the year with registration through the University of Victoria Continuing Studies Curriculum offerings.

Some Level-1 training workshops on Vancouver Island are offered for FREE thanks to Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Climate Action and Awareness Fund for the “Strengthening Adoption of Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Shoreline Resilience in British Columbia project 2021-2026” (Resilient Coasts for Salmon), a collaborative project of the Pacific Salmon Foundation and the Stewardship Centre for BC, and other partners, including the District of Saanich. UPCOMING FIELD-BASED COURSE DATES AND LOCATIONS
Green Shores® Level 1 Training is a full-day workshop with 7 hours of in-person instruction delivered in the classroom and on a local shoreline. Registration is required. Comfortable beach shoes, weather-appropriate attire, and a bag lunch are recommended.

- October 22, 2024, 9 am-4 pm, Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion
- November 26, 2024, 9 am-4 pm, Duncan

GREEN SHORES LEVEL-2
Green Shores Level-2 is a two-day field-based course offered across BC. Training is scheduled throughout the year with registration through the University of Victoria Continuing Studies curriculum (for Vancouver Island) or the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) (for the Lower Mainland).

GS Level-2 training on Vancouver Island is currently offered free of charge thanks to Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Climate Action and Awareness Fund for the “Strengthening Adoption of Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Shoreline Resilience in British Columbia project 2021-2026” – a collaborative project of the Pacific Salmon Foundation and the Stewardship Centre for BC.
GS Level-2 training delivered through BCIT. Course fee $724.62
