New Summer Research Intern
Thanks for joining our team, Andrea!
Stewardship Centre for BC (SCBC) is extending a warm welcome to Andrea McDonald, who will work with SCBC’s Communications and Green Shores teams in summer 2021.
After pursuing an undergraduate degree in environmental sciences at the University of British Columbia, Andrea completed her Master’s in Resource and Environmental Management with a specialization in Planning at Simon Fraser University. After graduation, she wanted to find work that could utilize her academic training and knowledge while helping to develop skills and experience in the field of environment and sustainability. SCBC’s work entered Andrea’s radar while she was completing policy research for her Master’s project. Andrea’s research focused on sustainable urban development and salmon habitat protection policy and standards in the Lower Fraser Watershed. While exploring some of the standards and guidebooks used by developers and local governments across the region, she learned about resources and the work of SCBC’s Green Shores program.
I have always had a passion for all things environmental. I am very excited to be a part of the team and help with communications, contribute to enhancing the Green Shores program as well as any other important works the Stewardship Centre is doing! – Andrea McDonald
This summer, Andrea joins SCBC as a Summer Research Intern to facilitate social media and outreach strategies and help strengthen SCBC’s engagement and collaboration with members of the Green Shores Local Government Working Group. You can reach Andrea at andreaemcdonald28@gmail.com.
