Construction of the Cultus Lake Park Green Shores Demonstration Project will begin on September 16, 2024
Thank you to everyone who participated in our community information and engagement sessions from May to August 2024. We appreciate your feedback and support for improving the health and habitat of this important section of the Cultus Lake Park shoreline. Public feedback on the conceptual design has been addressed and incorporated into the final construction design.
Construction Notice
Construction begins on September 16, 2024, with completion anticipated by October 18, 2024.
Please see below for important information about site access during this period.
Site Access
During construction, access to the site will be limited to a fenced pathway. We ask that visitors access the pedestrian bridge from Cultus Lake Park’s west side via the fenced pathway and be mindful of construction taking place. Please direct any questions about area access to the Cultus Lake Park Board or Green Shores Project Manager, Andrea McDonald.
Construction Plan
The Cultus Lake Park restoration plan is complete; however, elements of the design may need to be adjusted in response to site conditions. The construction plan below indicates the proposed placement of design elements at Cultus Lake Park.
About the Green Shores Project Design
Technical experts on the project team and technical advisory committee developed this Green Shores nature-based hybrid design incorporating both soft and hard design elements. The objective of the design is to protect and enhance salmon habitat, reduce pollutants entering the lake, mitigate erosion, increase accessibility, improve biodiversity, and enhance the community’s resilience to climate change.
