
Two new grants available
Two Green Municipal Fund grants are now available that can support Green Shores and nature-based coastal resilience projects! Contact us at the Stewardship Centre if you’d like help applying for these grants for your project, and if you’d like help with project delivery!
Key details:
Implementation Grants of up to $1 million with base funding of at least 70% of costs for Indigenous-led projects (additional 30% funding possible if project meets other criteria like nature-based solutions)
Eligibility:
- Projects must have a value of less than $1 million (can be part of a larger project), they are not already underway, and will be completed within 3 years
- Communities must have completed some kind of climate adaptation plan or risk assessment to be eligible, or be within area where a regional assessment has been done
Deadline for Round 1: July 8 to Aug 19 // Round 2: Aug 20 to Oct 9
Feasibility study grants of up to $70,000
- Grants of up to $70,000 (up to 80% of costs or more*)
- Deadline: July 8 to October 20, or until funds have been allocated
- “A feasibility study of a climate adaptation project that improves . . . readiness for climate events.”
Ways we at the Stewardship Centre can support on projects:
- Liaising with FCM to determine grant eligibility, ask questions
- Support with grant application
- Delivering project scope for feasibility study and/or implementation stages
- Concept design, engaging consultants for coastal engineering studies and similar
- Public presentations, Green Shores training that is tailored to your community
- Engagement with public, First Nations (staff / community)
- Coordination of a Technical Advisory Committee or similar
- Development of interpretive signage
- Green Shores certification for public recognition and education
- Project documentation to support future projects, grant applications and education
- Developing monitoring plans to see how the projects are working over time
