Green Shores® Project Manager
The Stewardship Centre for British Columbia (SCBC) is seeking a skilled Project Manager for our Green Shores program.
SCBC is seeking an individual who thrives in this type of work environment to join our team as a Green Shores Project Manager, starting in early September. This is a unique position that requires a familiarity and working knowledge of Green Shores® guiding principles, practical application, and the science that informs the program AND a holistic approach to project management. SCBC Green Shores Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage current Green Shores projects supported by multiple funders. This includes, but not limited to, effectively liaising with committees, working groups, partners, funders, contractors and other SCBC staff to meet project deliverables and reporting requirements.
- New project and funding proposal development – on an ongoing basis.
Location: 100% Remote (home office based) with some travel in British Columbia required; Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island base preferred
Reporting to: SCBC Executive Director
Contract position to March 31, 2023; 30-35 hrs/week; rate commensurate with experience; with possibility of contract extension
Skills/Experience Required:
- A Masters degree focused on conservation, natural resource, shoreline, or ecosystem management.
- 5-10 years experience in application of Green Shores principles in shoreline restoration and nature-based shoreline solution applications (preferred)
- Proven successful grant and proposal writing
- Green Shores Level 2 trained or Green Shores Approved Professional (preferred)
- Training in justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (preferred)
- Astute facilitation and conflict resolution
- Comfortable with uncertainty – maintaining the ‘balls in the air’
- Experience and enjoyment in working on
Attributes/Experience Required:
- Strong belief in and support for Green Shores and ecological stewardship in BC/Canada
- Understanding of non-profit, public and private sector processes and practices
- A desire to work on innovative projects with provincial/national/global vision
- An enthusiasm for building individual and organizational partnerships, fostering these partnerships, and leading the group towards a mutual goal
