Call for Expression of Interest
2022 Membership in Green Shores Local Government Working Group
The Stewardship Centre for BC is issuing a call for Expressions of Interest by local governments in British Columbia who would like to join the Green Shores Local Government Working Group.
Membership in the Working Group provides support to communities interested in applying a “nature-based”, Green Shores approach to shoreline asset management (coastal and lake). The purpose of the Working Group is to enhance the capacity of local government staff and others who work with landowners and stakeholders to apply Green Shores® in shoreline planning and protection work. This work is especially important in light of climate change adaptation and the need to integrate Green Shores with other key planning and community engagement processes.
The group, facilitated by SCBC, meets monthly via online platforms to support local governments with peer-to-peer learning, community education and engagement and assistance in the implementation of Green Shores (Green Shores for Homes and Green Shores for Shoreline Development) in their community. Membership fees are offered on a sliding scale from $2,500 – $5,000 per annum (January –December). Fees can be pro-rated. We ask that local governments commit to a two-year (minimum) membership. For further information on membership benefits please see Green Shores for Local Government or contact the undersigned below.
