On November 5, 2013 at the Vancouver Maritime Museum in Vancouver for a Green Shores Technical Workshop hosted by the Stewardship Centre for BC. Participants received information on the Green Shores program, which promotes sustainable use of coastal ecosystems through planning and design.
Workshop participants had the opportunity to learn about and discuss Green Shores tools such as the Coastal Development Rating System and its application through CDRS Demonstration Project Case Studies; get an update on the Greening Shorelines, Enhancing Resilience: An evaluation of the effectiveness of Green Shores approaches to coastal shoreline development Project and Green Shores for Homes and to share community experiences with Green Shores and other shoreline partners. There was ample opportunity at the event to network with other coastal professionals and to take an optional tour of a Green Shores project located nearby at Jericho Beach.
