"Engineering Considerations for Coastal Hybrid and Nature-Based Green Shores Projects"

On February 19, 2025, TransCoastal Adaptations: Centre for Nature-Based Solutions and the Stewardship Centre for BC hosted an hour-long webinar about the use of engineering designs in nature-based and hybrid Green Shores projects. This webinar is applicable to coastal engineers, consultants, municipal staff, students, and anyone who would like to know more about the technical and hard aspects that may need to be integrated into Green Shores projects. The following two speakers shared examples of their work and talked about their experiences from projects in the Maritimes and British Columbia.
Speakers

Amaury Camarena, MSc, P.Eng.
Amaury Camarena is a Senior Coastal Engineer and Manager of Coastal Science and Engineering Department at CBCL. He specializes in coastal and offshore projects, focusing on integrated coastal zone management, coastal adaptation and risk assessment, and numerical modeling of coastal processes.

Grant Lamont, MASc, P.Eng.
Grant is a Principal at Northwest Hydraulics Consultants. As a senior coastal engineer, Grant excels in his role as a project manager and discipline lead for a variety of projects ranging from large marina developments to small shoreline restoration.
